Dhurandhar:
The Revenge is one of the most highly anticipated films in India. With the first part still playing in theatres and Netflix viewership reaching millions, the sequel is nothing less than goldmine for distributers. However, the In a significant development, Toxic has reportedly locked a Rs 40 crore distribution deal for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, a move that could have ripple effects beyond the Telugu states. The question now is whether this deal can tilt the balance against Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2.
Toxic finalises Telugu deal
According to
Pinkvilla reports, Yash’s
Toxic has secured its Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (APTS) theatrical distribution rights with PVRINOX Pictures. The deal is said to be valued at a hefty Rs 40 crore advance on a commission basis. As per standard practice, PVRINOX is expected to offload several sub-territories to local distributors across the two states, while retaining select high-performing regions under its direct control.
At first glance, the agreement appears to be a straightforward Telugu market deal. However, the implications may extend far beyond regional boundaries. The real significance of this development lies in PVRINOX’s dominant position as India’s largest multiplex chain, with a strong presence across Hindi circuits and metro cities, including Bengaluru.
Toxic is slated to clash with
Dhurandhar: The Revenge during the lucrative Eid festive period in March, making screen allocation and showcasing a crucial factor. With PVRINOX on board,
Toxic could potentially gain strategic advantages in terms of premium screens, show timings, and nationwide visibility. The exclusive Telugu states association might soon translate into broader operational leverage. However,
Dhurandhar 2 is no small fish - it is the highest-grossing film of all time for PVRINOX. Will exhibitors attempt a careful balancing act, considering the huge scale of both films or will
Toxic's deal turn out to be an influencing factor nationwide? Time will tell.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge's OTT deal
Adding to
Dhurandhar 2’s strong position is its staggering non-theatrical valuation. As reported by
Bollywood Hungama, the digital rights of
Dhurandhar: The Revenge have been sold for an eye-popping Rs 150 crore, marking one of the biggest OTT deals in recent times. The deal reflects the growing confidence in the franchise’s box office pull and long-term value.
Interestingly, the report revealed that Netflix had initially offered Rs 175 crore to acquire the streaming rights for both
Dhurandhar films together, even before the first installment released. However, Jio Studios chose to wait, a decision that appears to have paid off. While the first film’s digital rights fetched Rs 85 crore, the sequel alone has nearly doubled that figure.
Dhurandhar 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, with its OTT premiere reportedly lined up for the second week of May 2026 on Jio Hotstar. With massive stakes involved on both sides, the
Dhurandhar 2 vs
Toxic clash is no longer just about star power - it’s about strategy, screens, and smart deals.
