WandaVision
star Elizabeth Olsen is remaining coy about her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). There are two major Marvel films coming up in the next few years, with Avengers: Doomsday and its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars and her character Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, was an important part of later Avengers films. At a recent panel in Chicago, the actress revealed if she would be coming back as Scarlet Witch and which direction she would like her character to go in. The spinoff sequel VisionQuest starring Paul Bettany is releasing later this year.
Elizabeth Olsen reveals if she will be back in future Avengers films
The actress, who took part in the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo this past weekend, shared if Wanda Maximoff would return for
Doomsday and
Secret Wars. According to reports on X (formerly Twitter), Olsen stated that she knew nothing. She revealed, "I know about VisionQuest, because I've seen Paul in the last six months. I know nothing about any of it. Is [Secret Wars] what happens after? I'm not kidding. Why did I think there were two Secret Wars? Are there not?"
In fan pictures shared online, the actress also wore a bulky coat which led fans to speculate if she was pregnant. Olsen did hint that she was not done yet with her character. She shared that she "offered up things [she'd] like to do" and wanted "to be of service to a story." Olsen went on to say that every time she worked on a Marvel project, it had been character-driven. The quality of Wanda's arc in any MCU project matters to Olsen and she was appreciative of the fact that the character wasn't just thrown into something. The
Eternity star did not share what storylines she had pitched to Marvel but added that "House of M is just the coolest." She also said that she would love to reunite with her

Agatha All Along that also featured Wanda and Vision's (Bettany) son Billy Maximoff aka Wiccan.
Scarlet Witch's appearances in the MCU
Wanda Maximoff and her brother Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), first showed up in a post-credits scene of
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and appeared in other
Avengers features including
Avengers: Endgame (2019). In 2021, she starred in the Disney+ series
WandaVision with Paul Bettany that explained what happened to the Scarlet Witch after
Endgame.
Wanda returned for the 2022 film
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, which hinted at the character's death. Since then, Olsen has not returned to the MCU despite the pleas of fans.
