Released in 2018, the film revolved around a blind man who gets embroiled in the murder of a retired actor. Eight years after its release, Varun Dhawan revealed that he was offered Andhadhun, but he rejected it. On comedian Tanmay Bhat's YouTube channel, the Bollywood actor made a surprising revelation about the 'original cast' of Sriram Raghavan's project. Here's what he said.

In conversation with Tanmay, Varun recalled saying no to a good film called
Andhadhun. The actor revealed that he couldn't do the black comedy crime thriller because he was busy shooting for something else. He further shared that Kangana Ranaut and him were the original cast of the film. While Varun mentioned why he had to reject the film, Kangana hasn't spoken about it so far.
Eventually, Ayushmann, Tabu and Radhika Apte joined the film's star cast. The actor played the role of a blind piano player Akash, while Tabu was seen as Simi. Radhika, on the other hand, portrayed the character of Sophie. On the work front, Varun was recently seen in
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Co-starring Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, the romantic-comedy opened to mixed feedback from critics and audiences alike. Directed by Dhawan, the film registered a box office opening of Rs 7.5 crore. The film clashed with Bobby Deol's Bandar at the ticket window. Bhediya 2. While the film is scheduled for August 14 release, buzz is that it might get delayed. An official update from the makers is awaited. This project is a sequel to Varun and Kriti's movie,
Bhediya, which was released in 2022.
