Confirmed! Pradeep Ranganathan's LIK To Release In Tamil And Telugu - Here's When It Will Hit Theatres

Ranganathan has received overwhelming response for his films Dude and Dragon, not just in Tamil but In Telugu-speaking states as well. Now, the makers have announced that his upcoming film LIK, will release in both the languages, much to the delight of fans. Directed by Vignesh Shivan, the film was long-delayed, due to alleged financial issues.

LIK Officially Set to Release in Tamil and Telugu

Pradeep Ranganathan’s sci-fi venture LIK has finally received an official release date: April 10, 2026. Now, seven months after the first glimpse was shared in Tamil, the Telugu teaser, has been unveiled by Rana Daggubati on X. It has generated excitement across social media platforms. The makers confirmed that the film will simultaneously release in both languages.

Initially, LIK was slated for October 17, 2025, to coincide with Diwali. However, the release was postponed to avoid clashing with Pradeep’s other film, Dude, also set for the festive season. A second tentative date of December 18, 2025, was later announced before locking in April 10, 2026, as the official release. Following the success of the first single, Dheema Dheema, the makers of Vignesh Shivan’s upcoming film Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), starring Pradeep Ranganathan, have released the second single, Pattuma. The track is a breezy romantic number featuring Pradeep and Krithi Shetty. Composed by Anirudh, Pattuma is penned by Vignesh Shivan and sung by Anirudh alongside Ananthakrrishnan, adding a fresh, melodic charm to the film’s soundtrack.

LIK Movie Plot

Set in 2040, LIK imagines a world where love can be insured. A company develops an app that calculates the risks in relationships, predicting their future outcomes and even controlling them. The story follows a man whose relationship is labeled as doomed by the system. As the app begins interfering with his personal life, he discovers that it manipulates love rather than merely predicting it. The plot is set to show the tension between following the heart and trusting technology.

Alongside Pradeep Ranganathan, the film stars SJ Suryah and Krithi Shetty, supported by Gouri Kishan, Yogi Babu, Seeman, Shah Ra, Malavika, Mysskin, Anandaraj, and Sunil Reddy. The film’s technical crew boasts industry veterans: Anirudh is the music composer, Ravi Varman handles cinematography, Pradeep E Ragav edits the film, T Muthuraj oversees production design, and Peter Hein choreographs stunts. LIK is produced by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan under Rowdy Pictures, along with SS Lalit Kumar’s Seven Screen Studio. Vignesh Shivan last directed, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal romantic comedy starring Vijay Sethupathi as Rambo, alongside Nayanthara in the role of Kanmani Ganguly and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Khatija Begum. It was released on April 28, 2022.
