Alex Breaux as Lt. Robert Akers in Stranger Things Season 5
The official description of the character by Netflix states that Lt. Akers is "one of Dr. Kay’s (Linda Hamilton) henchmen." He is part of the military, but his real work is at the lab alongside Dr. Kay and hunting Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). The actor was present at the world premiere of the final season in Los Angeles on November 6, Stranger Things Day, where he told reporter Josh Horowitz on the red carpet about his character, "He's the leader of a splinter cell, special forces unit [in the] US military. At this point, Dr. Kay, played by Linda Hamilton, has assumed the work of Dr Brenner, who I'm currently playing on Broadway as a younger version. I'm in rare air where I'm in both at once, Broadway and Season 5, playing different characters." He also shared that working on the show was an incredible experience. Breaux recalled, "Working with Frank Darabont, he's done The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, The Walking Dead... We were walking to set one day, and his jaw dropped. He stopped walking and held his hands back and said, 'This is the biggest, baddest set I've ever been on in magnitudes.' It took his breath away, the size and breadth of this production." On Broadway, his character Dr. Brenner is also known as Papa or Bad Man. About his character who works for the Department of Defense, Breaux stated, "Dr. Brenner is an extremely ambitious, tunnel-visioned scientist who will stop at nothing to pursue a scientific method." In the show's universe, Matthew Modine plays the character who is Eleven's Papa. In the play, Henry Creel's mother contacts him, as she is afraid of her son's psychokinetic abilities. He takes over custody of Henry to treat him, and instead he becomes Brenner's first test subject as One. Show fans know One as Vecna. In the final season, Lt. Akers will not be running into Dr. Brenner, but it's the rare instance of an actor who gets to expand his range during a show's universe.Do you find this article useful?
