Director
Sandeep Raj is heartbroken after the Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer Akhanda 2 makers announced the new release date of the film. Let us tell you, Sandeep Raj’s mid-budget film, Mowgli, was scheduled to be released on December 12 in theatres. However, the filmmaker has now decided to release his film on OTT after NBK-starrer Akhanda 2 makers decided to release the film on the same date. Sandeep Raj called himself ‘bad luck’ and penned a heartbreaking note on X. Now, Telugu actor Sai Dharam Tej has come out in support of the Mowgli director.
Sai Dharam Tej supports Sandeep Raj
While reacting to Sandeep Raj’s post on X, Sai Dharam Tej said that he should get sad as he will shine with his efforts. The actor wrote, “Your hardwork will pay off in the most unexpected ways Sandeep, keep your head held high and smile. Let the art form take its own course, At the end “cinema is winning”.” Let us tell you, Akhanda 2 was supposed to release on December 5 but due to financial disputes between 14 Reels Plus and Eros. Now, the issue has been resolved between both the parties, as Madras High Court has given clearance to the film.
Owing to the solid buzz of Akhanda 2, Sandeep Raj and the producers decide to release Mowgli directly on OTT to avoid a clash with the NBK-starrer. In the note, Sandeep Raj poured his heart out by stating, “Maybe Colour Photo and Mowgli deserved another DIRECTOR instead of me. These movies were made by a group of passionate people who can do anything for their profession. The common points between both films are: 1. Facing bad luck with their release, just when everything seemed to be going well. 2. Me. Maybe I am the BAD LUCK. Even I’m starting to feel that way. My dream of seeing the title “Directed by Sandeep Raj” on the big screen is becoming harder day by day. I think SILVERSCREEN hates me. Mowgli was made with the passion, sweat, and blood of so many dedicated people like Roshan, Saroj garu, Sakshi, Harsha, DOP Maruthi, Bhairava and many more. I truly hope that all good things happen to Mowgli at the very least for their sake.” (sic) Talking about Mowgli, the film stars Roshan Kanakala and Sakshi Sagar in the lead roles.
