Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s dream home is ready. The Kapoor family’s ancestral bungalow in Mumbai has been renovated and designed to be moved into. A puja was performed by Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir, Alia and Raha in November 2025. The official nameplate for the bungalow has now been erected. Ranbir and Alia have named their bungalow Krishna Raj. They retained its original identity, honouring the matriarch of the family, Krishna Raj Kapoor. According to reports, the bungalow has been registered under Raha’s name. Neetu, Ranbir and Alia are expected to move into their new home soon.
Krishna Raj bungalow renovated
The
Rs 250 crore Krishna Raj bungalow has been under renovation for many years. Constructed almost 80 years ago, the property was inherited by
Rishi Kapoor and Neetu in 1980. They had planned to rebuild the bungalow, adding modern amenities. Now, after spending years on its construction and renovation, the eight-storey bungalow was ready in 2025. A room has been dedicated to Rishi, who couldn’t see the renovated bungalow and passed away in 2020 after a long battle with leukaemia.
Why is bungalow named Krishna Raj?
The bungalow belonged to Ranbir's grandfather,
Raj Kapoor and his wife Krishna Kapoor. The property was named after her. As a tribute to his grandmother, who passed away in 2018, Ranbir has retained the name. Raj and Krishna's second son, Rishi and his wife Neetu, became the owners much earlier.
Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt to move into Krishna Raj soon
Ranbir, Alia and Raha spent their last Diwali in their Vaastu Apartment residence in 2025 before moving into the Krishna Raj bungalow. Talking to ETimes, the actress said the feeling of moving into the new house is ‘very overwhelming’. Calling it a big dream coming together, she said her heart was full of joy and blessings.
