“Aandhi banke aaya hoon… mera hausla bhi ayyaash hai...” These lines from Dhurandhar’s Ishq Jalakar perfectly sum up Ranveer Singh’s mood for 2025. After back-to-back duds, a wave of negative reviews, and a dull phase in his career, the powerhouse performer has staged a strong comeback with Aditya Dhar’s actioner. The film, which is wreaking havoc at the box office even after 20 days in theatres, has crossed Rs 600 crore. Dhurandhar has not only emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of 2025 but has also joined the league of Bollywood’s biggest hits. But beyond shattering records, it has firmly cemented Ranveer Singh’s position as a bona fide star once again."There comes an inflection point in every actor's career that just takes him into
a different trajectory or at least gives him the chance to move to a different orbit. For Shah Rukh Khan, it was DDLJ, for Salman Khan, it was Hum Aapke Hai Koun...! Every actor has had that one movie till when the movies choose him, and then the actor has the ability to make some great choices without any restriction of commerce or anything else. I think Dhurandhar is that film for Ranveer Singh and credit to Aditya Dhar for handing that over to him," industry expert Akkshay Rathie tells Zoom. He adds, "From here, Ranveer Singh's choices will determine what magnitude of stardom he can really achieve. Like for Ranbir Kapoor in recent times, it was Animal. After which, if you look at the league of films offered to him and are becoming feasible to him are huge. Likewise, for Vicky Kaushal, it was Uri at a point of time and Chhaava even more. So, I really hope that Ranveer Singh makes some amazing choices here and can be at the helm of films that are vehicles that take him to greater stardom."Trade guru and film critic Taran Adarsh also agrees that Dhurandhar has changed Ranveer Singh’s career trajectory. He points out that stars are often judged by their last success or failure, adding, "In this case, it is not just success, it's something bigger. Dhurandhar is a blockbuster in every porportion and I think that is the reason why this film is doing so well.""He was always a star. But, you know what happens when you don't deliver those numbers. As I said, you're not by your last Friday—good or bad— and if you don't deliver the numbers, somewhere it reflects in your in the eyes of the filmmakers and the critics. It is very important to give those numbers. At one point, he was being compared with Ranbir Kapoor and slowly, Ranbir passed him after delivering Animal. Now Animal's records are in danger asDhurandhar is now going past them. So, it is back to the nets for both the actors," says Adarsh, expressing excitement about what lies ahead!Reports of Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3 have left industry insiders divided, but all eyes are now on his next move. Watch out for Baba and his upcoming blockbusters!
