Parasakthi Movie Update: After days of speculation surrounding censorship clearance and a possible delay, Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi has successfully cleared all hurdles. The makers confirmed on Friday that the film has received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and is on track for its theatrical release, much to the relief and excitement of fans. Until Thursday, the film was under review by the CBFC, which reportedly suggested multiple cuts, including scenes depicting protests against Hindi imposition. Following the clearance, Dawn Pictures’Aakash Bhaskaran announced the news on social media, calling it a significant win.Parasakthi Release Date:Parasakthi is set to release in theatres on Saturday, January 10,
in Tamil. The film was initially scheduled to hit screens on January 14 but was later advanced. It will face box-office competition from Vijay’s Jana Nayagan during the opening weekend.
Censor Certification and Runtime:Directed by Sudha Kongara and starring Sivakarthikeyan, Parasakthi has received a U/A 16+ certificate by the CBFC. The film’s approved runtime is 2 hours, 42 minutes, and 43 seconds. Celebrating the clearance, Dawn Pictures shared a post stating, “A fire that speaks to all ages. #Parasakthi censored with a U/A – striking theatres worldwide from tomorrow.” Aakash Bhaskaran also posted, “Tamil Will Win.” Parasakthi OTT Partner:While there has been no official announcement yet, reports indicate that Parasakthi will premiere on Zee5 after completing its theatrical run.Parasakthi Cast and Crew: Parasakthi features Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role and is written and directed by Sudha Kongara, with Arjun Nadesan as co-writer. The project was initially launched as Purananooru with Suriya and a different cast, including Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya, and Vijay Verma. After the original team exited, the film was reworked and retitled Parasakthi with Sivakarthikeyan headlining. The cast also includes Ravi Mohan as the antagonist, Sreeleela in her Tamil debut as the female lead, and Atharvaa Murali in key roles. The film’s music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
