A new report has shown how there is a wide gap between how the general public views AI and how experts perceive it. While experts are still hopeful about AI being helpful in the future, many people are worried about the drastic impact of AI on their general lives, including jobs, healthcare, and the economy. Why Gen Z Is Less Hopeful About AI?According to the annual report on AI released by Stanford University, a recent poll reflected that Gen Z is more concerned about AI. Despite using the AI daily or weekly, the younger people are becoming less hopeful and more frustrated with the technology. The
data shows a clear divide between the experts and the general public. Only 10% of Americans felt more excited than concerned about AI. However, 56% AI experts agreed that the technology will bring a positive change in the US over the next 20 years. In terms of healthcare, while 84% experts believe AI will improve medical treatment, only 44% of the general public agreed.
Rising Tension About AIUsers are more worried about losing their jobs to AI. Nearly 64% Americans said AI will lead to fewer jobs in the next 20 years. Experts believe that AI will bring a positive change in the workplace, with 73% of them agreeing that AI can help people to improve their productivity at their jobs. Notably, only 23% public agreed to this view. Speaking of the economy, nearly 69% AI experts said that AI will boost the economy; however, only 21% public agreed to the same. The report also notes that trust in government regulations on AI is also now. Only 31% of Americans believe that they trust their government to manage AI responsibly. While Singapore showed more trust, with 81% people agreeing to the same.
