Advani has opened up about her intense experience working on Yash starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas. In a recent interview, the actress revealed that she was instructed not to engage in casual greetings or conversations on set so she could remain fully immersed in her character. Kiara shared that the filmmaker wanted a focused atmosphere during filming, which pushed her out of her comfort zone. The actress also admitted that shooting the film in both English and Kannada was particularly challenging, as she had to memorize Kannada dialogues overnight for several scenes in the much-awaited film starring Yash.

Speaking to Bombay Times, Kiara Advani shared that she was asked not to exchange casual greetings like “hi” or “hello” with anyone before shooting scenes for Toxic. She said, “Geetu is like, okay, tomorrow when you come on set, I want you to be… and I’m a person when I walk on set I’m always like, ‘Hi, what’s up, good morning’, I’m that person. And she’s like, ‘I don’t want pleasantries, I want you to come in that zone, no hi hello, not your team, nobody, just be in a zone today’.”

The actress admitted that working on Toxic was a challenging experience, especially since the film was shot simultaneously in English and Kannada. Kiara explained that the team would first finish a scene in English and then shoot the Kannada version of the exact same sequence.She said that since Kannada is not her native language, she had to memorise her dialogues overnight before filming the scenes. For the unversed, Toxic was shot in English and Kannada and will also release in several other languages, including Hindi. Kiara further shared that although there were slight cultural differences in the Kannada film industry, the overall experience felt familiar to her. She explained that, at the core, everyone shared similar values and working styles despite language differences. The actress added that she found her experience in Kannada cinema fairly similar to working in Hindi and Telugu films.
