OpenAI is taking a leap forward as the AI giant has announced that it is bringing Codex, agentic coding, too, to the ChatGPT smartphone app. The launch of the same is happening at a time when OpenAI is already taking a lot of heat from Anthropic. According to a report published by The Wall Street Journal, OpenAI has recently shifted its internal focus towards coding tools, productivity products, and enterprise software. OpenAI has also said that Codex on mobile has been designed to help users monitor and manage development workflows remotely. Furthermore, the firm also explained that the feature will let people review work happening across laptops, devboxes, and remote environments directly from their smartphones. As for the rollout, Codex is being rolled out for both iOS and Android devices across all plans, including the Go and Free tiers, as well as in the supported regions.
