It
is indeed a historical moment for Korean boy band group ENHYPEN! Sunghoon, a member of the group, has been selected as a torchbearer for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The Winter Games will start on February 6 (local time). Sunghoon will join the official torch relay after receiving an invite from a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, Samsung Electronics. Sunghoon’s selection for the prestigious games marks a rare crossover between K-pop and the Olympic movement. Apart from that, ENHYPEN will also be representing Team Korea at the Winter Olympics 2026 through their music. They have created the Shout Out song as an anthem for Team Korea. The excitement for the same amongst the K-pop lovers is on another level.
Reason Behind Sunghoon’s Selection As A Torchbearer
Sunghoon’s selection is not a surprising one for his fans. The Korean singer is a trained skater and was a part of South Korea’s national reserve team before debuting with ENHYPEN. He has also served as a promotional ambassador for the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee to help them bridge elite sport and pop culture.
The ENHYPEN member is quite excited and happy to support Team Korea at the Winter Olympics. He earlier dreamt of competing in the Olympics as an athlete. So, now connecting to his dream as a singer feels like a meaningful honour to him.
How Will Shout Out Boost The Spirit Of Team Korea?
ENHYPEN’s anthem Shout Out for Team Korea will definitely boost their spirit. It is a part of their 2022 mini-album Manifesto: Day 1. It is going to be Team Korea’s official cheer song for the campaign. Shout Out has all the elements to ignite the fighting spirit of the players and make the hearts of the country beat faster. The KSOC has already unveiled the ‘Shout Out’ cheering challenge featuring Sunghoon. It features amazing choreography that focuses on upper body movements and encourages everyone to easily join in cheering for the Winter Olympics.
