Sreenivasan's funeral to be done with Police honours
Kerala will accord full police honours to veteran Malayalam actor and filmmaker Sreenivasan at his funeral on Sunday, after the state government approved ceremonial respect in his memory. The celebrated artist passed away on Saturday at the age of 69. Officials said the last rites will be held on December 21 at Sreenivasan’s residence in Udayamperoor, Kandanad, in the Ernakulam district. The decision was formally communicated through an official advisory issued by the Secretary to the Government, which also conveyed condolences and recognised his immense contribution to Malayalam cinema.As part of the official tribute, the District Collector has been directed to place wreaths on behalf of the state. The Commissioner of Police has also been instructed to oversee ceremonial honours, including a bugle salute at the funeral.
