Yadav has been working in the film industry for more than 25 years. He has worked in several popular films in his career. He has recently been in the news after his arrest in an Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case. Now, the actor is out on bail and fighting to prove his innocence. Amidst all, Rajpal recently had an exclusive interaction with Zoom, where he opened up about getting replaced in Billu with Irrfan. The Mujhse Shaadi Karogi actor also revealed that he said no to Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om. Moreover, he spoke about his equation with King Khan.
Rajpal Yadav On Irrfan Replacing Him In Billu
During a candid chat with us, we asked Rajpal Yadav if he ever regretted saying no to any role. He revealed that he was supposed to play Irrfan’s role in Billu (formerly titled Billu Barber). However, he was eventually replaced by the actor, and Rajpal got the role of Budbudiya in the Priyadarshan-directed film. Rajpal Yadav said, “I was supposed to play a titular role in the film Billu. However, I was later given a different role, and Irrfan bhai did that character. He was amazing as Billu.”
Were There Any Issues Between Rajpal Yadav And Shah Rukh Khan?
In the same conversation, Rajpal Yadav revealed that he had said no to Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om. He recalled the incident on the sets of Billu. Rajpal said, “Juhi Chawla's brother Bobby Chawla would look after the production of the film. In the evening, he told me to meet Bhai (Shah Rukh Khan). He said that SRK loves me a lot. I told him that I met him in the afternoon only. He told me that there is some issue.”
“Bobby told me that I said no to a role in Om Shanti Om due to a time issue. I didn't have any idea about it. I was presented negatively in front of Shah Rukh bhai. There was a miscommunication between us. However, he didn't keep it in his mind and hugged me tightly on Billu's set,” the Bhooth Bangla actor added. While concluding his statement, Rajpal showered love on Shah Rukh Khan and said, “He is a fantastic actor. He has worked in theatre, TV and films. He is a complete actor.”
