According to the information available on Bhooth Bangla's poster, the film will stream on Netflix after its theatrical run. The makers haven't made an official announcement about the film's OTT release yet. That said, a movie generally lands on streaming after 45 to 60 days of its theatrical release.
For the uninitiated, Bhooth Bangla was initially set to arrive in theatres on April 10. However, the makers of
Akshay's horror comedy postponed it by a week amid Dhurandhar 2's blockbuster success. An official statement by the makers mentioned that since Dhurandhar 2 has been enjoyed exceptional run at the box office, exhibirtours felt that giving it a clear and uninterrupted window would be in the best of industry ecosystem.The statement further read, "By moving Bhooth Bangla ahead by a week, we are ensuring that both films get the theatrical space, marketing focus, and audience attention they truly deserve." The Bhooth Bangla makers noted that this approach could benefit the filmmakers, exhibitors and audiences. The makers also expressed that they will always prioritise comfort of the theatre-going audience, and strive to entertain them in the best way possible with their films.
Rohan Shankar on how he bagged Bhooth Bangla
In an exclusive chat with Zoom, writer Rohan opened up about bagging Bhooth Bangla. The writer stated that Priyadarshan offered him this project because he liked his writing and then saw his previous films. The filmmaker later offered him Haiwaan, which features Saif Ali Khan as well.
