In a recent interview, RJ Balaji revealed that Rajinikanth is pretty much impressed by Karuppu, as he called him and showered love. He is very happy after getting praised by the Shivaji The Boss actor.

Rajinikanth Is All Praise For Karuppu

RJ Balaji recently had an interaction with The Hollywood Reporter India, where he revealed the most special reaction from the star of Tamil cinema. RJ Balaji mentioned that he got a call from Rajinikanth after he watched Karuppu. Rajinikanth showered love on the film. The Karuppu director said, “Whenever a good film is released, Rajinikanth will watch it and meet the film crew in person or over the phone to congratulate them. He called me to congratulate. He said, ‘Balaji, super, super, super, you have achieved; you have achieved. What a big hit! We will meet again soon’.” RJ Balaji is feeling blessed to get a compliment from Rajinikanth, as he is the biggest star of Tamil cinema. Coming back to Karuppu, the film has been making headlines with its successful run at the box office.

Karuppu was released on May 14, 2026, in theatres. The film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 130 crore. The film has so far crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the box office worldwide. It will soon cross the Rs 300 crore mark. Karuppu has turned out to be the biggest hit of Suriya’s career. Within days of its release, the film outperformed Singam II (2013), which was Suriya’s highest-grossing film before Karuppu. The Tamil film also stars Indrans Anagha Maya Ravi, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy, Mansoor Ali Khan, George Maryan, Aadukalam Naren and others in key roles.
