Tamannaah Bhatia Roped In For Upcoming V Shantaram Biopic Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi: Reports

As per new reports, Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia has signed up the upcoming Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer Chitrapati V Shantaram's biopic, to be directed by Abhijeet Deshpande. For the unversed, Chitrapati C Shantaram was

a legendary Indian actor and through the film, 'the younger generation will learn about it.'

Sources close to the news portal Bollywood Hungama told, "Tamannaah Bhatia is on a high at present and has proved that she can essay varied kinds of roles. Just like Siddhant Chaturvedi, Tamannaah also essays a real-life character and moreover, it's a crucial role to the narrative. Tamannaah is excited as the role is challenging and viewers would get to see her in a new light.” "Chitrapati V Shantaram will be directed by Abhijeet Deshpande, who made the successful Marathi biopic, Ani... His films, made at Prabhat Studios, won praise at Cannes, Venice and Berlin Film Festivals and was also honoured with a Golden Globe in the year 1959. Not many are aware that Charlie Chaplin had praised V Shantaram's work and also about his rivalry with Bombay's (present-day Mumbai) elite filmmakers. Hence, the biopic will not just be enlightening but also entertaining and dramatic."Shantaram, fondly known as Annasaheb, passed away on October 30, 1990. He is survived by his three wives and seven children. His first wife was Vimla; he later married actress Jayashree, with whom he had two children, and subsequently, actress Sandhya.
