Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, popularly known as Krishna, was one of the most celebrated actors in Telugu cinema. Over a career spanning several decades, he appeared in more than 350 films and also made significant contributions as a producer and director. In recognition of his contributions to Indian cinema, he was conferred the Padma Bhushan in 2009. Beyond cinema, Krishna was also active in politics. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1989 and remained involved in public life before retiring from politics in 2012.
