Charan’s much-awaited pan-Indian sports drama Peddi has now faced an unexpected setback ahead of its worldwide release. The makers had initially planned a simultaneous premiere in Japan on June 4, banking on the actor’s massive popularity in the country. However, the Japanese release has now been postponed, leaving overseas fans disappointed. The sudden decision has left fans upset, especially among Japanese audiences who were eager to celebrate the film’s release alongside Indian fans. Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
Why Is Release Of Ram Charan Peddi Postponed In Japan?
The Japanese release of Peddi has now reportedly been postponed due to unavoidable technical reasons. According to reports, the makers informed distributors and audiences that the Japanese version of Peddi would not release on June 4 as initially planned. While the exact technical reasons behind the postponement remain unclear.
Many social media users expressed that a simultaneous release could have significantly boosted the film’s overseas box office collections. Following the release of RRR, Ram Charan built a strong fan base in Japan. The actor’s popularity in the country has continued to grow over the years, with several Japanese fans travelling to Hyderabad to meet him and celebrate his films.Many fans watched RRR multiple times in theatres, while some even created dedicated travel tours inspired by locations associated with Ram Charan’s films. Fans have also been pouring love on Ram Charan's previous films such as Maghadheera directed by SS Rajamouli.
Ram Charan Calls Peddi His Best Film
Addressing the press in Bengaluru, Ram Charan greeted the Kannada audience and thanked fans for their continued support. He said he feels fortunate to receive so much love while doing the work he loves the most. The actor added that after nearly two-and-a-half years, he is returning before audiences once again with Peddi. Ram Charan also stated that the entire team worked on the film with complete honesty and dedication, expressing confidence that Peddi would turn out to be one of the best films.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is described as a sports action drama. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor opposite Ram Charan and also features Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. Produced by IVY Entertainment and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the film has cinematographer Rathnavelu, editor Naveen Nooli as part of the technical crew. The film’s music has been composed by Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman.
