the time it has been revealed by Ramayana makers that a special glimpse will be released on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, fans of Ranbir Kapoor and Yash are super excited. The much-awaited mythological epic Ramayana is set to take a major step forward with its upcoming reveal. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film is gearing up to unveil its first character glimpse on April 2. The launch, timed with the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, will introduce audiences to the film’s star-studded cast in their on-screen avatars. With Ranbir Kapoor and Yash leading the ensemble, the reveal is expected to take is into the world of this ambitious retelling of the iconic epic.
First glimpse to reveal character looks
According to reports in
Pinkvilla, the upcoming asset will focus on introducing the central characters of
Ramayana rather than showcasing large-scale action. The glimpse will reportedly highlight the appearances and emotional depth of each character, giving audiences a closer look at how the makers have envisioned the epic. Ranbir Kapoor will be seen portraying Lord Ram, while Yash takes on the powerful role of Ravana. Sai Pallavi will play Sita, with Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol stepping into the role of Hanuman. The visual presentation is expected to center around these key characters and their defining traits. Apart from the leading star-cast, the Ramayana makers might also unveil the first look of the entire ensemble.
Star-studded ensemble cast of Ramayan
Apart from the primary cast, the film boasts a massive ensemble. Actors such as Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi and Arun Govil as Dashrath will also feature prominently. Kajal Aggarwal will portray Mandodari, while Rakul Preet Singh takes on the role of Shurpanakha. The cast further includes Amitabh Bachchan as Jatayu and narrator of the film, Vivek Oberoi as Vidyut Jihva, Suhail Nayyar as Sugriva and Kunal Kapoor as Indra.
The April 2 launch is said to mark the beginning of a detailed promotional campaign that will span over seven months. The makers are planning to release multiple assets at regular intervals, each focusing on different aspects of the film. While the first glimpse will highlight characters, future reveals are expected to show the scale, action, grandeur and glorious visual of the project. Ramayana is one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema. As revealed by producer, Namit Malhotra, the combined budget of the film series is approximately $500 million, or around Rs 4,000 crore.
