Lokesh Kanagaraj On Coolie's Negative Response: Will Try To Rectify In Next Film
Talking to the media he said "Whenever there is criticism for a film from the audience, it is important to accept it. At the same time, beyond all the criticism, many saw the film for Rajinikanth sir. I must also express my gratitude to them." Lokesh Kanagaraj said that he could not address the comments on the film during its release because he was busy with his next film's shoot and could not get the opportunity to do so. The film featured Shruti Haasan, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan and Soubin Shahir in key roles.
Previously In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lokesh Kanagaraj opened up on the reports that he has received Rs. 50 crore as fees for directing Coolie. He spoke about the massive success of his last film, Leo, which earned Rs. 600 crore at the box office, and added that it was quite natural that his fees would be doubled after this. Lokesh said, "I can't say anything about Rajinikanth sir's salary, as it's not my place to comment on it. However, the 250 crore you have mentioned is my salary... that has happened because of the success of my previous film, Leo. Leo made over 600 crores, so now I'm getting paid twice as much as what I made previously. I pay my taxes, and I'm able to support my friends and family thanks to the same," he said.
Lokesh Kanagaraj is in talks to direct Aamir Khan in a superhero film next. He is also starring in DC, where he plays the lead role in the action film, directed by Arun Matheswaran of Captain Miller fame. Previously, he has made cameo appearances in films such as Master and Singapore Saloon.
Lokesh Kanakaraj is also producing Benz, starring Raghava Lawrence and Nivin Pauly. Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, Benz is part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
