Singh and his wife Koel Roy stepped out in Jiyaganj, Murshidabad, to vote for the West Bengal Elections 2026 earlier this afternoon (April 23). A video is currently going viral on social media, in which the former playback singer and his wife were seen coming out of the polling booth after casting their vote for the betterment of West Bengal state. They were spotted by the paps. The shutterbugs asked some questions to Arijit Singh and the singer replied to them in a fun way. The singer didn’t show his inked finger to the media.

In the viral video, Arijit Singh was asked by paps about his voting experience. They even asked him to give a message as they came from very far. The Kesariya singer laughed and said that if he gives any message in the midst of voting, it may create havoc. He feels he will look like a politician. Hence, Arijit Singh politely declined to give out any message regarding elections. When paps insisted he show his inked fingers, the Phir Mohabbat singer refused to do it with a smile and said that him coming to the centre means he has voted.

Arijit Singh greeted the paps with a smile and asked them to cover the event of democracy carefully. For the unversed, several people, including Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee, complained about the disappearance of her name from the voter list of West Bengal Elections 2026. She couldn’t vote in the polls and revealed that the same thing happened with her during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
