Dhawan-starrer Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is scheduled to be released on June 5, 2026, in theatres. Ahead of its release, the Central Board of Film Certification, aka CBFC, has passed the film with a U/A certificate. It means the audience who is 16 and above can watch the film in theatres. While providing a certificate to the David Dhawan film, the censor board’s examining committee (EC) has asked for some changes that include condom brand names, vulgar hand gestures and so on. The makers agreed to make the changes, and after that, the Censor Board handed over the censor certificate to the film on May 27.
CBFC Orders To Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Makers
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the CBFC asked the Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai makers to replace a word with an appropriate term at four places. They have also asked them to replace the visual of a vulgar hand gesture in the film. Moreover, the Censor Board has asked the makers to blur the condom brand name, while the word indicating the flavour names was asked to be muted. The board mentioned that there is one shot in the film where England cricket players Jos Butler and Ben Stokes were visually edited to 6 seconds.
Eventually, the makers were asked to zoom in on the face and upper part of the body in the scenes of dancing women because of the visibility of their undergarments. As per the certificate given by the censor board, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is 136.40 minutes (2 hours, 16 minutes and 40 seconds) long. After acquiring the censor certificate, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai will get a smooth release on June 5. However, the film will face tough competition from Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s pan-India film,
Peddi. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is releasing on June 4, 2026, in theatres.
