Ryan Murphy Productions recently shared three behind-the-scenes images from the upcoming season, giving a glimpse of Jessica Lange on set. While the photos only show her from behind, they have been enough to set the internet abuzz. Dressed in a blue outfit with a retro beehive hairstyle, Lange’s look has drawn immediate comparisons to Constance Langdon, the character she famously portrayed in the show’s debut season, Murder House.

Lange first appeared in American Horror Story in 2011, playing Constance Langdon, a mysterious and manipulative neighbor who quickly became a darling of AHS fans. She went on to headline several subsequent seasons, including Asylum, Coven, and Freak Show, taking on roles such as Sister Jude Martin, Fiona Goode, and Elsa Mars. Her performances were widely praised. Although she stepped away from the main cast after Season 4, Lange made a memorable return in Season 8, Apocalypse, where she reprised her role as Constance Langdon. Since then, the actress had repeatedly indicated that she was done with the series. In fact, in a 2025 interview with an Irish Radio station, she had dismissed the possibility of returning, making her Season 13 comeback all the more surprising and exciting for fans. Despite the buzz, it remains unclear whether Lange will once again step into the shoes of Constance or portray an entirely new character. The production has kept plot details tightly under wraps, adding to the intrigue surrounding her role.

OG cast returns from AHS Season 13

Joining Lange in Season 13 is a lineup of familiar faces from the AHS universe, including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman. Adding to the excitement, Ariana Grande is also set to appear, marking a reunion with creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.In an additional tease, Ryan Murphy has hinted at the return of the trio of witches from the Coven storyline, suggesting that Season 13 could be a mix of the best of the best from AHS. As of now, filming is underway, but an official release date has not yet been announced.
