Faridkot,
a Delhi-based band owned by IP Singh and Rajarshi Sanyal, has carved a special place in the Hindi pop music scene. Best known for their hit track “Jehda Nasha” from An Action Hero, the duo spoke to Zoom about collaborating with actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Nora Fatehi, whose performances helped amplify the song’s popularity.
Rajarshi on seeing the actors bring their song to life
In an exclusive interview with
Zoom, Rajarshi shared, "It was amazing to see them dance and groove to our song. AK is an amazing actor and dancer, and NF is a brilliant dancer. We didn’t really get to interact with them much but AK has mentioned our song many times and from what we heard, he was the one who pushed the hardest to get this song in the film."

IP on the Collaboration and Love Their Song Received
IP added, "It was actually a great experience. We were so happy that these two great talents were getting associated with our song. I honestly feel that
‘An Action Hero’ is a very under rated film. We couldn’t get to interact with them that much, but we only heard praises and love for the song."
All about Faridkot's new EP Nayi Baat
Adding further, Rajarshi shared about their new album, "“
Nayi Baat” focuses more on storytelling through music. There’s a whole range of songs on it, from peppy songs to long desi rock ballads that are about philosophies and how they intertwine in our lives. Our last few released songs were more of a fun nature. Our older releases had something similar to what is here but in this EP we have designed it as almost a concept album, where there are lots of different stories. If you listen to the songs in order also, it’s almost like a journey of maturing in life."IP continued, "As the name suggests, it’s about newness and new beginnings. You will hear new sounds and new stories. We love telling stories and you will find 5 new stories in the form of these 5 songs. We always try to tell something fresh with our music and that’s what this EP also stands for."
Faridkot’s latest EP comprises of five tracks namely,
Harjai, Nayi Baat, Sawaari, Aza, and Jaadugari.
