After making a big splash in Bollywood with the blockbusters Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2 opposite Ranveer Singh, she is now reportedly in talks to star opposite Dhanush in his upcoming film D56. The film is directed by Tamilarasan Pachamuthu, known for Lubber Pandhu. Sara charmed audiences with her performance as Yalina Jamali in Aditya Dhar's spy thrillers and is currently being sough after by big production houses.

What We Know About Sara Arjun Being Cast Opposite Dhanush

According to News18, Rukmini Vasanth was originally signed as the female lead for D56, the project directed by Tamilarasan Pachamuthu. However, she reportedly ran into scheduling conflicts after committing bulk dates to the NTR–Prashanth Neel film.Following this, the team is now said to be in talks with Sara Arjun to step in as the leading lady opposite the National-Award winning Tamil superstar. However, No official confirmation has been made yet.

Dhanush Upcoming Films

Dhanush's next is an action thriller Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja. It is set for a solo theatrical release on April 30, 2026, and features Mamitha Baiju as the co-lead. He is also working on D55, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy of Amaran fame, which features Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, and Mammootty in key roles.Pre-production on D56 with Tamilarasan Pachamuthu has officially commenced, with location scouting already underway and Vijay Kumar hinting at joining the cast.

Dhurandhar, the spy action thriller directed by Aditya Dhar, features Sara Arjun as part of an ensemble cast alongside Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan. Released in December 2025, the film crossed Rs 1,000 crore worldwide.She reprised her role in the sequel Dhurandhar The Revenge (2026), forming part of a two-film franchise. Dhurandhar 2, which arrived in theatres on March 19, went to earn over Rs 1600 crore at the worldwide box office and is now the highest grossing Hindi film in India.In between both Dhurandhar movies, she also appeared in Euphoria, directed by Gunasekhar. In the Telugu drama, Sara Arjun plays Chaitra, a bright student who dreams of becoming a civil servant. Her life falls apart after one fateful day pulls her into a world of drugs and crime. The film is inspired by the 2022 Jubilee Hills pub case and explores the aftermath of a sexual assault involving minors from influential families.
