Din box office collection: Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi's romantic drama, Ek Din, opened to mixed reviews from critics and audience alike on May 1. The film, directed by Sunil Pandey, is a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day. It locked horns with Riteish Deshmukh's Raja Shivaji and Meryl Streep-Anne Hathaway's The Devil Wears Prada 2 at the box office. Compared to these movies, Ek Din got a lukewarm box office opening. The Junaid-Sai starrer minted only Rs 1.15 crore at the ticket window. In fact, it didn't see any growth on day two.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Ek Din registered a collection of Rs 1 crore on day two of its theatrical release. Considering the film's day one earnings, Junaid and Sai's romantic drama collected only Rs 2.15 crore in two days.

Aamir Khan on opting for Thai film remake for Junaid
Earlier, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir opened up about his son Junaid's Ek Din being a remake of One Day. Speaking to the publication, the actor mentioned that he has nothing against remakes. Aamir believes that if he comes across a material which has been made in another language and if it excites him, he would want Indian audience to experience the same feeling. The actor expressed that he would want to share it with audience in a language that they understand.
