Dhurandhar director Aditya Dhar's next project could be...
According to a report in
Variety India, Aditya Dhar is taking his time before announcing his next project. Though there’s no official confirmation yet, industry chatter suggests he is currently weighing multiple ideas for what would be his fourth film after
Uri: The Surgical Strike, Dhurandhar and
Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
The report quoted a source saying that Dhar is considering three directions:
The Immortal Ashwatthama, a historical epic, or a large-scale sports drama. His next move is expected to be one of these, unless a fresh concept takes precedence.
The Immortal Ashwatthama continues to be close to Aditya Dhar’s heart. He had invested significant time in developing the ambitious mythological project earlier, but it was put on hold due to its high budget. Now, with his credibility as a filmmaker stronger than ever, there’s a possibility he may revisit it if the conditions align.
Aditya Dhar to present the historical saga of Chandragupta Maurya?
At the same time, the ace director is reportedly drawn to a historical story set during the reign of Chandragupta Maurya. He has been in discussions with Ranveer Singh regarding the project, and they are likely to revisit those conversations once things settle down post the
Dhurandhar wave. The subject, filled with drama, politics, and action, is seen as a fresh space with a grand cinematic scale.
Apart from these, a sports drama is also said to be in the early stages of development. While not much is known yet, it is expected to match Dhar’s larger-than-life storytelling style. For now, Aditya Dhar is expected to take a breather after dedicating nearly three years to his last film. While it’s too early to lock anything, one thing seems certain: his next project will aim to be even bigger in scale and ambition.Meanwhile,
Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to wreck havoc at the box office with its stellar star cast and their outstanding performances. The spy thriller recently collected Rs 900 crore at the box office and is ready to surpass the Rs 1,000 crore milestone soon.
