Imran Khan is charting a refreshingly unconventional path as he prepares for his acting comeback. The actor, who will soon be seen in Adhure Hum Adhure Tum, has made it clear that his return to the spotlight
will not be accompanied by the usual machinery of publicists and managers. Instead, Imran wants to navigate this phase on his own terms, prioritising creative freedom and personal pace over constant visibility and curated narratives. The actor revealed why he wants to look for work himself and not through a manager.
Imran Khan says he does not want PR or manager
Speaking about his decision, Imran told
Hindustan Times why he has chosen to stay away from PR teams and managers this time around. “I have worked at a time where I had a PR and manager. Having had a taste of it and knowing what it brings to your world I now don't want those things. I don't want a manager who will go out there and look for work for me. The manager's pay percentage depends on keeping me steadily employed because of which he may push me to do things I don't want to. I don't want them to find work for me, I want to find my work.”
Imran Khan also reflected on how deeply PR-driven the industry has become, and why that no longer appeals to him. “Engaging in the PR game is a full time job, it takes hours everyday sitting with the PR team, planning strategies and reviewing the results. Because of how much everyone does it the public is aware of it. Now the public looks at everything with speculation - is this a PR stunt, what is the angle behind it. I'd rather work at my own pace.”
More about Adhure Hum Adhure Tum
Imran’s upcoming film
Adhure Hum Adhure Tum marks his official return to acting after a long break. Co-starring Bhumi Pednekar and Gurfateh Pirzada, the film’s quirky and playful title reflects its core theme. Described as a dysfunctional romantic dramedy, the project blends humour, heart, and relatable chaos - elements that strongly echo the kind of roles that once made Imran a household name. It will premiere on Netflix India this year, adding to the platform’s growing slate of character-driven romantic dramas. On the work front, Imran Khan is fondly remembered for his light-hearted and youth-centric films such as
Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na,
I Hate Luv Storys,
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu,
Break Ke Baad and the cult hit
Delhi Belly. With his comeback, and his decision to reject PR-driven optics, Imran seems intent on letting the work speak louder than the noise around it.
