Shahid
Kapoor is all set to feature in Vishal Bhardwaj’s next directorial venture, O Romeo. The film is scheduled to be released in February 2026. The makers have already released the teaser of the film, and as expected, it has been getting a lot of love from the masses. Shahid has been working in the industry for 23 years now. Despite getting big success in his career, the actor doesn’t like to call himself a ‘star’. Apart from that, Shahid believes in giving his children a normal upbringing. In a recent interview, Shahid Kapoor opened up about the reason behind not calling himself a ‘star’.
Shahid Kapoor On Stardom
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Shahid Kapoor revealed that he likes to call himself an actor instead of a star. He said, “The biggest lesson I’ve learnt is that authenticity comes from knowing yourself deeply and not trying to fit into anyone else’s expectations. Fame can be overwhelming, and it’s easy to lose sight of who you are amid all the noise.”
According to Shahid Kapoor, the actor should be real, stay connected to his close ones and focus on work. The O Romeo star said, “Staying true to my values, staying connected to my family and close circle, and focusing on the work rather than the hype have helped me stay grounded. At the end of the day, being real with yourself is the only way to sustain any kind of success or happiness.”
Shahid Kapoor On Kids’ Upbringing
Shahid Kapoor is a proud father to two kids – daughter Misha and son Zain. While speaking about how his children are aware of his stardom, the actor said, “I want them to stay as close to normalcy as they can… But beyond the point, it is what it is. As they grow older, they will become more aware, but we don't do anything to bring it up. If any questions come up, we try to answer them in the best way that we can as parents; that's it. It is what it is.” For the unversed, Shahid Kapoor tied the knot with Mira Rajput in 2015. She has now become an entrepreneur. On the professional front, Shahid will next be seen in O Romeo and Cocktail 2. Talking about O Romeo, the film also stars Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Triptii Dimri, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vikrant Massey and others in key roles.
