Earlier rumours suggested that the movie drew inspiration from the life of Ashoka Chakra awardee Major Mohit Sharma, but director Aditya Dhar clarified that the film is not based on his life.Reports also indicate that Dhurandhar could be a two-part project, with the second part likely releasing in mid-2026. The first instalment is rumoured to have a 3.5-hour runtime, potentially making it one of Bollywood’s longest films in recent times.
Dhurandhar is written and directed by Aditya Dhar, who co-produces alongside Lokesh Dhar and Jyoti Deshpande under B62 Studios and Jio Studios. Shashwat Sachdev has composed the music and background score, while cinematography is handled by Vikash Nowlakha and editing by Shivkumar V. Panicker. The film hits theatres on December 5, 2025.
