Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi are headlining the new romantic comedy, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the franchise gets a fresh story. After the poster was unveiled, there were discussions around the film promoting infidelity. At the trailer launch held on Saturday, at Mumbai’s Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Ayushmann clarified that Pati Patni Aur Woh Do does not promote infidelity and it can be watched with the family. The actor also said that he showed the film’s edit to his children.

At the trailer launch,
Ayushmann called himself a fan of Sanjeev Kumar, the lead actor of
Pati Patni Aur Woh (1978). Lauding the director, Khurrana added, “But the way Mudassar Aziz has woven the idea of the story in a classic way is absolutely brilliant.” Ayushmann said his character, Prajapati Pandey, is a ‘green flag’. “I will not call it a romcom. I'll just call it a pure comedy. More than romance, there's an abundance of comedy happening with these four characters,” the actor shared.
Not promoting infidelity, say Ayushmann and Rakul
Ayushmann put an end to speculation that
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do promotes infidelity. He added, “It's not like Prajapati is having an extramarital affair.” The actor concluded, saying the film can be enjoyed by all. He defined it as a ‘comedy of errors’.
Rakul Preet, who plays one of the female leads, added to Ayushmann’s statement on infidelity. “Hum karte kuch aur hai, log samajte kuch aur hai, ho kuch aur jaata hai aur nazariya kuch aur ho jaata hai,” she said, defending the film against criticism.
About Pati Patni Aur Woh Do
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do follows the story of Ayushmann’s Prajapati Pandey, a forest department officer. He is married to Wamiqa. However, with the arrival of Chanchal (
Sara), his life undergoes a massive change. While being a married man, he appears to be trapped in extramarital affairs with two other women. Prajapati’s wife gets suspicious of his relationships and keeps an eye on his activities outside the home.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is presented by Gulshan Kumar, B R Chopra and T-Series. Produced by T-Series Films and B R Studios Production under Bhushan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra, and Krishan Kumar, the film is creatively produced by Juno Chopra.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do releases in theatres on May 15.
