composer Aadesh Shrivastava’s younger son, Anivesh Shrivastava, has reportedly been involved in a road accident in Mumbai’s Lokhandwala area during the early hours of Sunday. According to initial reports, a red Range Rover crashed into a divider and an installation at a junction, ironically, the installation was a statue of Aadesh Shrivastava himself, placed there when the chowk was named after the renowned music composer a few years ago.

A report by
Jagrut Maharashtra News stated that the SUV, which carried a Haryana registration plate, rammed into the Lokhandwala crossing, damaging the divider and completely destroying the statue. The vehicle is reportedly registered under Vijayta Pandit, Aadesh’s wife. Images circulating on social media show Anivesh standing beside the severely damaged car, moments after the crash.As of now, there is no confirmation on whether a police complaint or formal statement has been filed regarding the incident.

A viral Reddit post drew attention to the poignant detail that the accident occurred at the very chowk recently renamed in honour of Aadesh Shrivastava, a ceremony attended by Vijayta Pandit, Anivesh, and elder son Avitesh.

Aadesh Shrivastava’s Musical Legacy
Aadesh Shrivastava began his career as a drummer for industry legends like R. D. Burman and Rakesh Roshan in the 1980s before transitioning into music composition in the 1990s. After gaining recognition with
Kanyadaan (1993), he went on to deliver several memorable soundtracks for films such as Major Saab, Chalte Chalte, Baghban, Apaharan, and Rajneeti. He also became a household name as a judge on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2005.Shrivastava was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and underwent extensive treatment, including multiple rounds of chemotherapy. The illness resurfaced in 2015, and he passed away on 5 September 2015, just five days after turning 51. His final work as a composer featured in the film Welcome Back, which released in the same week as his passing.
