The spy thriller is still doing well at the box office more than a month after it came out in theaters. The Aditya Dhar-directed movie has continued to draw in large crowds and has had a strong box office run well past the usual peak time. According to a recent update, Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 has shattered the records of the earnings by Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan in the United Kingdom, marking a major milestone.

Film critic and movie trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X (Formerly Twitter) and shared that the film has earned around £4.388 million in the UK, narrowly surpassing the lifetime earnings of Pathaan, which starred Shah Rukh Khan and had collected £4.380 million. This is a big deal, especially since the Khans have been in charge of the movie market for a long time.

The success of the
Dhurandhar series is not limited to one territory. Both the original film and its sequel have delivered massive numbers globally. Together, the two films have reportedly crossed the Rs 3000 crore mark worldwide, making it the first Indian franchise to reach such a milestone, according to Sacnilk. This places the series among the most commercially successful film properties to come out of India in recent years.
Speaking of the digital avenue, the sequel has secured a lucrative streaming deal. Its rights have been acquired by JioHotstar for an estimated Rs 150 crore, making it one of the biggest OTT deals for a Hindi film. Interestingly, this is a notable change from the first part, which had premiered on Netflix. The film is expected to arrive online between late May and early June, following the standard theatrical window.

The film continues the journey of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, played by Ranveer Singh, who evolves into the feared Hamza Ali Mazari. After taking down crime lord Rehman Dakait in the earlier film, he climbs the ranks of Karachi’s underworld and earns the title 'Sher-e-Baloch.' Sara Arjun plays Yalina, his wife, while R. Madhavan plays Ajay Sanyal, the man who pulls him into a dangerous mission. The sequel explores his past in greater depth as he confronts powerful syndicates and attempts to disrupt terror funding networks.
