By picking up the BAFTA TV Award for Supporting Actor, the teenage Owen Cooper has scripted history yet again. The 16-year-old actor has also won the Emmy Award, Golden Globe, Critics' Choice Actor Award, Gotham Award and Independent Spirit Award for his portrayal of a 13-year-old boy, Jamie Miller, who kills his classmate. At the BAFTA TV Awards 2026, held in London on May 10, Cooper's show Adolescence and the comedy Amandaland were the big winners. On the British television's biggest night, Great British Bake Off host Dame Mary Berry was honoured with the BAFTA fellowship for her "exceptional contribution to television." Meanwhile, journalist Martin Lewis has received the BAFTA Television special award for his "extraordinary and lasting impact on British consumers and public life."Prisoner 951 actress Narges Rashidi was a surprise winner in the Leading Actress category. The public also voted for the emotional moment when comedian Alan Carr won the first edition of The Celebrity Traitors UK. A second season is currently filming in the Scottish Highlands.
