Earlier this month, several Indian celebrities, including Salman Khan, Pawan Kalyan, Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and others, also sought similar protection.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Jr NTR wrote, "I thank the Hon’ble Delhi High Court for granting a protective order that safeguards my personality rights in today’s digital age." He further conveyed his appreciation for the Supreme Court advicated and the entire to 'for their dedicated legal support'. "Deeply thankful for your steadfast support," he said.

LiveLaw, during the hearing, Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora instructed the intermediaries to treat
Salman Khan’s complaint as a formal request under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 and take necessary steps within the given timeframe. The Court also clarified that if the platforms had concerns about any links provided by Khan, they should notify him.
Celebs who sought protection to their personality rights
This case is part of a broader trend of public figures seeking to protect their publicity rights. Recently, several celebrities, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Kumar Sanu, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sudhir Chaudhary, and Raj Shamani, have secured interim relief from the Delhi High Court on similar grounds. Jr NTR is the latest to file a petition, with the court yet to pass an order on his case.
