Ranbir
Kapoor, often referred to as the most chaotic cousin in the Kapoor family on the new show Dining With The Kapoors, has once again lived up to the title as he finds himself at the centre of a controversy. A newly surfaced video has contradicted earlier claims that he had given up non-vegetarian food and alcohol to prepare for his role as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic, Ramayana.Previous reports suggested that Ranbir had adopted a sattvic lifestyle, quitting smoking, following a disciplined routine, meditating regularly, and maintaining early-morning workouts to align himself with the spiritual and physical attributes associated with Lord Ram.
‘Dining With The Kapoors’ Video Sparks Controversy
A recent video from the special series
Dining With The Kapoors, released to mark the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary Raj Kapoor, has raised questions about those lifestyle claims. In the footage, Armaan Jain is seen serving Fish Curry Rice and Junglee Mutton to the Kapoor family. Ranbir appears seated beside Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Rima Jain, Saif Ali Khan and other members of the Kapoor clan as the food is shared around the table.Although it isn’t clear whether Ranbir Kapoor actually ate the dish or not, he is not seen eating it in the video; it is only shown being served at the communal table.
Netizens Call Out Ranbir's PR Team ‘Misleading'
The clip quickly went viral, triggering a heated online discussion. Several users accused the actor’s PR team of pushing misleading narratives about his lifestyle for publicity purposes. One widely circulated post stated, “Ranbir Kapoor’s PR team claimed he gave up non vegetarian food out of respect for playing Lord Ram in the Ramayana movie but he is seen enjoying fish curry, mutton, and paya with his family. Ranbir Kapoor has the most effective PR in Bollywood. #DiningWithTheKapoors.”
Another critic wrote, “I think PR teams of Bollywood actors should be fired, especially that of RK and Alia Bhatt. They don’t do an ounce of research of past videos of their clients before posting such stupidity. On top of that, give such exaggerated claims and all. What was the need to make claims of leaving non-veg and drinks for the role? Who asked? If they had kept their mouth shut at that time, they wouldn’t be facing this unnecessary heat at present.”
