a family affair for veteran actor Rajinikanth at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). To celebrate 50 years of his career in the film industry, IFFI is honouring the South superstar with a special tribute at the closing ceremony. Daughter Soundarya posts family photo celebrating father Rajinikanth at IFFI 2025
The veteran actor was surrounded by his loved ones to commemorate this special milestone. Wife Latha Rajinikanth, daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya and their families were also present in the photo. Soundarya shared the photo on Instagram and wrote, "Together at @iffigoa," adding several red heart emojis.
Besides the tribute,
Lal Salaam, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, was screened as part of a Retrospective Rajinikanth section at the festival. Rajinikanth also walked the red carpet and attended the screening. Speaking about the film and the honour for her father, Aishwarya shared, “As a daughter, as a director, and as a member of the film fraternity, this is a dream come true. I am extremely thankful to God today, and I thank my team for standing by me through every hardship. Thank you all so much for your support. To celebrate his 50th year, and for this film to be a part of that, is a blessing for his daughter and as a director. Thank you very much.”

The 56th edition began on November 20 and also celebrated the centenaries of Guru Dutt, Raj Khosla, Ritwik Ghatak, P. Bhanumathi, Bhupen Hazarika, and Salil Chowdhury by screening restored classics of their works.
