Reliance Jio has reshaped its prepaid plans for feature phone users and the Mukesh Ambani-owned company has introduced a new category called ‘4G Feature Phone Plans’, replacing older offerings and streamlining its lineup. If you’ve been using a JioPhone or any 4G keypad device, this update directly affects you. Here's everything you need to know about this. Why Jio Changed Its PlansThe revamp comes after concerns raised by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The regulator had flagged device-specific recharge plans for lacking transparency. In response, Jio has now reworked its pricing structure to make plans more uniform and easier to understand. As part of this shift, earlier JioBharat plans have been renamed, while older JioPhone-specific
plans have been phased out entirely.New Jio 4G Feature Phone Plans ExplainedThe entry-level plan now starts at Rs 123, offering unlimited voice calls, 0.5GB data per day (14GB total), and 300 SMS with a validity of 28 days.If you prefer longer validity, the Airtel rival is offering these plans:Rs 234 plan: Same benefits, but valid for 56 daysRs 369 plan: Extends validity to 84 days with a total of 42GB dataThere’s also a Rs 1,234 yearly plan, which offers 336 days validity, 0.5GB data per day (168GB total), unlimited calls, and 300 SMS.How Your WhatsApp Chats Screen Could Look More Premium: What's ComingData Add-Ons And A New Budget PlanJio has also rolled out multiple data add-ons. These include:-Rs 26 for 2GB data-Rs 62 for 6GB dataThere are also daily data boosters like Rs 86 (0.5GB/day), Rs 122 (1GB/day), and Rs 182 (2GB/day), all valid for 28 days. One plan that stands out is the Rs 21 recharge. It’s extremely affordable, but there’s a catch. It’s only available for users buying a new 4G feature phone. The plan offers unlimited calls, 0.5GB data per day, and 15 SMS, but lasts just four days. Think of it as a starter pack rather than a long-term option. What’s Gone Missing?Jio has discontinued its Rs 91 plan, which used to be one of the cheapest options. That means the new starting point for regular usage is now Rs 123, slightly higher than before.
