The
world of KPop Demon Hunters is expanding. Netflix is set to launch a massive global concert tour, turning one of the streamer's biggest cultural sensations into a live experience for global fans. The OTT giant made the big announcement during its 2026 Upfront presentation in New York. Netflix confirmed that it is partnering with AEG Presents for the ambitious tour. KPop Demon Hunters released in June 2025 and soon rose to the occasion of becoming a pop culture movement worldwide. The animation film is co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, and follows a fictional K-pop girl group Huntr/x, consisting of its lead trio Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who are idols by the day and battle supernatural forces by the night.
Netflix announces KPop Demon Hunters tour
On May 14, Netflix's announcement came in that the upcoming concert series would bring the energy, music, and fantasy of the Oscar-winning animated phenomenon to the stage. While Netflix has not yet suggested the official list of cities, dates, or venues of the tour, fans are already anticipating what lies in store before the ticket sales begin and schedules get revealed.
Success of KPop Demon Hunters
KPop Demon Hunters offered a rare combination of K-pop, fantasy, comedy, and action that quickly resonated with audiences far beyond traditional K-pop fandoms. It eventually became Netflix's most-watched English-language movie ever, recording over 325 million views within its first 91 days on the platform. One of the primary reasons for the mammoth success of
KPop Demon Hunters was its music. The film won two Academy Awards, while its soundtrack became a global chart phenomenon. People however, await to know whether the upcoming tour will feature the original vocal performers behind Huntr/x - EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, who became breakout artists through the project. The film also added to the body of work of actors Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo, who voiced the main trio in the film.
More about global concert tour
The concert tour is expected to capitalise on that momentum by creating an immersive live show experience inspired by the film's world. Netflix described the production as a spectacle that will bring fans "closer to the characters and the music they love."At the Upfront event, Netflix's advertising president Amy Reinhard highlighted the massive influence of the movie. According to Reinhard, the film inspired sing-along screenings, viral social media trends, Halloween costumes, references at major sporting events, and even a noticeable rise in tourism interest towards South Korea. She revealed that travel bookings to Korea reportedly surged by 25 percent during the height of the film's popularity.
AEG Presents previous work
For the unversed, Netflix's collaboration with AEG Presents is significant because the promoter has previously handled tours for some of K-pop's biggest acts, including BTS, Blackpink, ATEEZ, and TXT. Fans anticipate full throttle, for KPop Demon Hunters concerts to become equally large-scale multimedia events rather than a standard soundtrack performance.Netflix is currently moving forward with a sequel. Earlier this year, news about Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans expanding the franchise surfaced. While no release date of Part 2 confirmed yet, the global tour signals that Netflix sees KPop Demon Hunters not simply as a successful movie, but as a long-term entertainment universe, at par with other major global franchises.
