May 14, Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar announced their separation, ending four years of their four-year marriage. The estranged couple's divorce rumours went viral after they unfollowed each other on Instagram. After confirming their split, the duo started following each other again. And now, Suraj has penned a hard-hitting note and reacted to baseless rumours around his separation from Mouni. The businessman stated that certain reports were made in bad taste. He further called them 'malicious'. Suraj later set the record straight around his split with the actress. Here's what he penned.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Suraj clarified, "There is no alimony. There are no disputes. There is no third party involved." The Dubai-based businessman added that he and Mouni chose to part ways with mutual respect and complete consideration of each other's well-being. "That is the truth," he mentioned.

Suraj continued to add that everything else being reported is fiction. In fact, he feels there has been a deliberate attempt, in some cases, to vilify him and Mouni, who've only asked to be left alone. The businessman reiterated that there's no truth to any claims being about him, Mouni and any third party. "Dragging other people into this is not cool. Specially innocent friends who have nothing to do with this," Suraj stated that he and Mouni have conducted themselves with dignity and expect the same dignity extended to them. "Our joint statement said everything that needed to be said. I request everyone to honour it and to allow both of us the space to move forward in peace. Thank you," he wrote, on a concluding note.

Mouni and Suraj got married as per Malayali and Bengal rituals in Goa. They exchanged wedding vows on January 27, 2022. Actors like Mandira Bedi, Arjun Bijlani and others attended their wedding celebrations. The duo first met at New Year's party in 2018. Their first interaction was brief. However, their bond transitioned into love over a period of time.
