The InSneider, who first revealed the news, Jennifer Lawrence will return as Katniss Everdeen, and Josh Hutcherson will reprise his role as Peeta Mellark. Their characters are appearing in a flash-forward in the film. Sunrise on the Reaping is the prequel story that focuses on the winning tournament of young Haymitch, played by Joseph Zada. Other characters that are returning for the franchise, with new actors, include Ralph Fiennes as President Snow, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee Latier, Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, and Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket. The rest of the ensemble cast features Glenn Close, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, and Whitney Peak in key roles.
