Haasan has sent out a special message to the team of Karuppu, especially his colleague, Suriya, who plays the male lead in the action-drama. Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Haasan wrote a post that was also a confirmation about Karuppu's release after an entire day of chaos and uncertainty around its show timings, and cancellations that left fans disappointed. Karuppu, which also stars Trisha Krishnan, was set to have its grand opening on May 14. However, due to unforeseen reasons, the movie failed to arrive in theatres on time. The unexpected news about the RJ Balaji directorial facing hurdles was not something anyone thought of.
Kamal Haasan roots for Karuppu
Haasan, on May 15, finally put an end to the matter, while also wishing everyone associated with the making of Karuppu luck towards a box office success. The Tamil superstar's post on X read, "Brother @Suriya_offl's film Karuppu, which faced issues from the time of its release, has now been resolved smoothly, and the film has been released today. My congratulations to Brother Suriya, the producers, director @RJ_Balaji, and the entire film crew. #Karuppu"
Karuppu's release delay
Karuppu had previously also received strong support from the newly elected Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thalapahy Vijay. The actor-turned-politician had given his nod towards allowing the cinema halls to hold 9 AM screening in light of the positive advance booking trends. The makers have even thanked Joseph Vijay for his gesture through social media.
About Karuppu
Karuppu's trailer suggests that the film revolves around a fierce legal and social battle. While Trisha plays an advocate named Preethi who fights for a marginalised family,
Suriya also portrays a lawyer who gets pulled into a violent conflict involving corruption, power struggles, and injustice. Infact the actor appears to be a 'supernatural host' or vigilante who's out to settle scores against caste and corruption.Apart from directing, RJ Balaji also plays the main villain, Baby Kannan. Other cast members include Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy and Yogi Babu.

On Friday, the makers took to social media to thank fans for their patience. They confirmed that the movie was finally set for a grand opening on May 15, with its worldwide release starting at 9 AM. Suriya also shared a similar message on his handle. This comes after the team had earlier addressed the disappointment among fans and issued an emotional statement thanking audiences for their unwavering support.
