Sivakarthikeyan Responds to Propaganda Allegations About Parasakthi After Delhi Pongal 2026 Event With PM Modi
After the Pongal celebrations, Sivakarthikeyan interacted with the media and addressed the allegations. The actor firmly dismissed claims that Parasakthi promotes propaganda, stating that viewers who watch the film in its entirety will clearly understand its intent. “There is no controversy and no propaganda,” Sivakarthikeyan said. “People who watch the film fully are understanding it in the right way. What we intended to convey is reaching the audience, and that is what matters.”
Ravi Mohan, who plays the antagonist in the film, also shared his thoughts at the event. Emphasising cinema’s role as entertainment, he said audiences are entitled to their opinions but said that films should not be weighed down by politics. “Cinema is meant to entertain. People already deal with enough stress, and films should offer relief. Let us leave politics out of it,” he said.
Written and directed by Sudha Kongara, Parasakthi stars Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa Murali, and Sreeleela in key roles. The film, which released in theatres on January 12, is set against a strong political backdrop and explores themes surrounding Tamil Nadu’s resistance to Hindi imposition. It has opened to a mixed response from audiences.
