Dhurandhar 2 aka Dhurandhar: The Revenge has not only emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. It has also redefined storytelling and set a new benchmark in the action genre. Dhar's "peak-detailing" has been receiving praise from all quarters but the captain of the ship credits his crew for the franchise's success. After giving shout-outs to the cinematographer, music composer, casting director and others, he has now shared an appreciation post for the outstanding action team behind Dhurandhar. He said that it was Aejaz Gulab, Sea Young Oh, Yannick Ben, Ramazan Bulut and Vishal Tyagi who brought his crazy vision to life and executed ideas that "sounded ridiculous" to even him.
DYK Dhurandhar Franchise Had 400 Stunt Men?
The filmmaker wrote, "There’s a thin line between conviction and madness and on this film, I crossed it almost every single day. I would walk up to Aejaz bhai with ideas that even I knew sounded ridiculous the moment I said them out loud."He mentioned scenes like a man being cooked inside a pressure cooker, someone being dragged behind a bike with a noose around his neck, men hanging upside down from fans and spinning at the push of a button. "These weren’t just ideas, they were problems I was casually handing over to him. And every single time, the response was the same, no hesitation, no judgment, just, 'Okay, let’s figure it out.'"Dhar said that it was this mindset that defined his team. He recalled telling Aejaz that they were running out of stuntmen as he was seeing the same faces again and again. His response was: "There’s no one left, we’ve used almost everyone in Mumbai." He revealed that they worked with 400 stunt performers during Dhurandhar and its
sequel. "Even now, that number sounds unreal. But that’s what it took," added Dhar.Dhar said that what stayed with him beyond the scale was the precision and ownership the team brought. He credited Sea Young Oh and his team for choreographing key climaxes and shaping the intensity of the Jaskirat massacre. He added that Yannick and Ramazan created controlled chaos. From the Arshad Pappu gang war to Babu Dakait’s annihilation, they ensured that every frame felt wild yet purposeful. He praised Vishal (Baba SFX) as the quiet backbone and said that his detailed approach to explosions gave the team confidence to push boundaries. Dhar concluded that Aejaz bhai, along with Abbas Ali Moghul, held everything together while constantly striving for better.
Dhar said that what people won’t see is the effort behind it - mock sets, endless rehearsals, and constant reworking under intense timelines and extreme conditions, with safety and preparation never compromised. He added that the process eventually became more than just work as he found genuine friendships along the way.He further spoke about action being the most instinctive part of filmmaking for him, where he feels at home. Working with a team like this felt effortless as they understood his vision and took it further. Dhar noted that they didn’t just execute what was written but elevated it, challenged it, and made it better. He concluded that
Dhurandhar breathes the way it does because of them.
