Prabhas'
much-awaited horror-comedy The Raja Saab arrived in theatres today, January 9, amid massive fanfare. Directed by Maruthi, the film also features Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani alongside Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar. Given the massive pan-India following of the Rebel star, The Raja Saab generated considerable buzz in the lead up to its grand release. Fans across the country thronged theatres early morning to watch their favourite superstar's latest outing. While the critics reviews are still coming in, lets take a look at what fans are saying about The Raja Saab.
The Raja Saab Public Reaction
So far, The Raja Saab is receiving mixed reviews on social media. Many are calling it a fun ride for die-hard Prabhas fans while highlighting the lack of a tight screenplay. One X user wrote, "The Raja Saab is a light-hearted horror comedy that banks heavily on Prabhas’ screen presence rather than a tight script. It’s meant more as mass entertainment than serious cinema."
Similarly, another fan also praised Prabhas' performance but mentioned that the climax is weak. Their post read, "A horror-fantasy with a good idea but weak execution. Prabhas gives an energetic & comical performance & the face-off with Sanjay Dutt is the main highlight. Palace setting is interesting at first, but the messy screenplay, dragged 2nd half, uneven VFX & weak emotional payoff reduce the impact. Nidhhi has performed well. Some scenes feel unintentionally funny, & the climax fails to impress. Overall, a one-time watch at best."
Advising to keep expectations low and enjoy the fun elements, one more fan penned, "#TheRajaSaab Review Prabhas carries the film with his screen presence and a few entertaining moments, especially later in the movie. Sadly, the horror never really scares and the comedy feels forced. The story jumps around, pacing is slow, and the visuals don’t match the scale it aimed for. It’s not a disaster, but it never becomes the fun ride it promised. Watch it only if you’re a hardcore Prabhas fan - others should keep expectations low."
The Raja Saab Box Office Update
