Akira Nanda approached the Delhi High Court after discovering that an AI-generated film had used his face, voice, and personality without permission. The petition highlighted violations of his privacy and personal rights, highlighting the creation of fake social media accounts. The court, granted relief by banning the AI-powered film and issuing notices to social media platforms to remove fake accounts and disclose IP information. The judgment said that using someone’s identity without consent, especially through deepfake technology, is a serious invasion of privacy, comparable to theft.

Akira’s legal action follows a growing trend of Indian celebrities safeguarding their personality rights. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan successfully took action to prevent unauthorized use of his voice and likeness in advertisements. Telugu film stars Nagarjuna has similarly blocked the commercial exploitation of his image without consent. Who Is Akira Nandan?

Pawan Kalyan married Renu Desai, in January 2009 in an Arya Samaj ceremony at his Jubilee Hills residence. They have a son (Akira) and a daughter (Aadya), however, later the couple divorced in 2012. Renu later mentioned that they separated for personal reasons but continue to maintain a cordial relationship.
