highly anticipated release Jailer 2 has received an exciting update! Bollywood’s versatile actress Vidya Balan has joined the veteran actor, marking her full-fledged Tamil debut. She had earlier made a cameo appearance in Nerkonda Paarvai (2019).

An inside source has confirmed Hindustan Times, "“Vidya plays the role of (actor) Mithun Chakraborty’s eldest daughter. Mithun is the leading antagonist in the film and will be seen alongside (actor) Rajinikanth sir. Jailer 2 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. A sequel to Jailer (2023), the film stars Rajinikanth reprising his role as the titular character, alongside Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa reprising their roles, with S. J. Suryah, joining the cast. Shiva Rajkumar, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Mithun Chakraborty make cameo appearances, with the former reprising his role. After the release of the first film in 2023, the sequel will hit the theatres on 12 June 2026. Previously, Rajinikanth made special appearances in two of Mithun Chakraborty's films. One was in Hindi (Bhrastachar, 1989) and another one in Bengali (Bhagya Devta 1997).Rajinikanth was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie.
