The
first glimpse of Ramayana, headlined by Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, was unveiled earlier this month and received mixed reactions. While some frames were unanimously lauded for top-notch visuals, there were a few shots where fans thought the VFX could have been better. Now, at the CinemaCon 2026, Yash directly addressed the criticism and assured everyone that the visual effects are still a 'work-in-progress' and the final product will meet all the expectations.
What Yash Said About Ramayana VFX?
Yash, along with producer Namit Malhotra, presented Ramayana at the ongoing CinemaCon 2026 in Los Angeles. At the mega global event, Yash, who is also a co-producer, spoke about Ramayana at length.In one of the many clips circulating on social media platforms, Yash can be seen talking about the visual effects of the mythologcial epic. He shared, "It's DNEG (the VFX company) on board. So the photo-realistic, the visuals that you are talking, it's still work in progress."
The KGF actor added that he is confident that the visuals will be 'even better when we'll see the finished product'. He said, "We are really making a product which is top-notch."
Yash On Working With Ranbir Kapoor
During an interview at the CinemaCon 2026, Yash was quizzed about working with
Ranbir Kapoor. To this, he replied by saying that even though he and RK do not share the screen in the first part, there is mutual respect between them.Yash revealed that since Ramayana is a two-part film, both Rama and Ravana will have their own separate kingdoms established before their big clash drives the story into the second part.He also opened up about his equation with Ranbir, sharing that they have met in person and share a deep mutual respect. "He's such a fabulous actor and it's mutual respect which has played out," Yash said.He further explained that their on-screen chemistry feels natural because both of them share the same goal, to make Ramayana a truly extraordinary cinematic experience.
Ramayana Cast And Release Date
Besides Ranbir as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana, Ramayana features Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Arun Govil as Dashrath. Kajal Aggarwal will portray Mandodari while Rakul Preet Singh takes on the role of Shurpanakha.The film is produced by Prime Focus Studios in association with eight-time Academy Award️-winning production and visual effects studio DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Ramayana Part 1 will arrive in theatres worldwide on Diwali 2026.
